Top Four Tuesday

Hey guys today I’m gonna be talking about book to movie adaptations. I have to say I havent seen a lot of them but I’m gonna try my best.

  1. Love Simon — Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

download (10)

I LOVED this movie. I think this is a great example of an amazing book to movie adaptation. They did change a few things which bothered me a bit. But still you have to cut some things when you make a movie.

*SPOILERS*

When I read the book I was 100% percent sure that Leah never liked Simon. But I saw the movie and was immediately confused. I then read Leah On the Offbeat and it might hint that she did like him. Anyway I’m really confuse if in anyone  knows what happened there please let me know in the comments.

*OVER*

Anyway all in all I loved the movie. It even had some P!ATD and Harry Potter refences in there which I loved.

2. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

download (11)

I was very excited for this movie. I watched it once and didn’t like it, I then re-watched it and fell in love. I have to say I enjoyed the book way more. I felt the book was very good it wasnt just another typical girl falls in love story. It still was, but there were all the other themes like coming of age and how she managed without a mother. Which the movie tried to show but in the end it very centered around the love story which makes sense cause in the end that’s what it’s about. I still loved it

3. Harry Potter (1-7) by J.K Rowling

download (12)

I could’t do this without mentioning Harry Potter. Technically it should be first or second but whatever, I love the Harry Potter movies. I think they really try to include everything and I loved that. I did not like that they made characters like Ginny very basic but they tried their best. My favourite movie has to be the 4th one. I don’t know why, but  yeah I think this one is pretty self explanatory.

4. The Book Theif by Markus Zusak

download (13)

I LOVE THIS BOOK. This book got me into reading. I think its amazing and If you havent read it (WELL… READ ITT!). I saw the movie a while ago but by what I remember I really liked it. It captured the nostalgia and sadness of this story. I don’t want to say more because of spoilers but I was left in tears.

And that completes Top Four Tuesday. I hope you liked my selection. There are many other good book to movie adaptations. and as I said I havent read/watched them all. What is your favourite book to movie adoption?

TOP FOUR BOOKS THAT MADE ME CRY

Todays post is all about emotional books.

Do you cry in books??

YES. I used to never cry but then I started reading all these really sad books and now I’ll cry 50% of time. Sometimes I cry not necessarily in sad books but joyful ones. Anyway today for Top 5 Tuesday I’m gonna tell you guys the top five books that made me cry.

  1. The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas

This book made me cry soooo much. If you haven’t read this book….READ IT. Its tells an amazing story about racism, racial profiling, criminal injustice, and just what society has become. So in summary just GO BUY IT! no but seriously…go buy it. It’s actually is turning into a movie and it comes out Oct.19 (I’m pretty excited). Anyway this book was so emotional and it just shows everything she had to go through, I can’t say more (for spoilers) but I was crying a lot while reading this.

2. Eliza and her monsters by Francesca ZappiaImage result for eliza and her monsters

I love this book. Francesca Zappia is one of my all time favourite authors and I love her books. I really recommend her. This story is about Eliza who has anxiety and writes a very popular web comic called Monstrous Sea but nobody knows that she writes them and much prefers the online world. Until one day a guy called Wallace comes to her school and turns out to be a fanfiction writer for her comic. They slowly become friends and she breaks out of her shell until one day her secret is shared with the world and everything begins to fall apart. This story is centered around anxiety and how she deals with it. I have anxiety and this book really came to me when I needed it. I was left in tears at the end because I could  really relate to what she was feeling.  The ending is not particularly sad but I was crying a lot while reading it.

3. Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer

I’m actually currently reading this book and i love it. It’s about two teens who lost someone dear to them start writing letters. It all happens when Juliette (one of the main protagonist) writes a letter to her dead mom, Declan finds it, reads it and responds. They then star talking to each other through letters and email. I’m not done the book so I can’t say more but it’s a very sad book (in my opinion) and amazingly written. I cried cause you can feel the grief the two of them are carrying and if you’ve ever lost a family member then you can relate

4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling

I’m sure a lot of you have read Harry Potter and if you haven’t well that’s okay there is still time. but this book is incredible sad.

*SPOLIER WARNING FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS*

This book was so sad I cried so much. My favourite characters in the whole Harry POtter series where the weasly twins and then fred diedddd!!!! I was so sad. Also Dolby died which was just cruel (#Dobbywillalwaysbeafreeelf), then Lupin deid, so did Tonks 😭😭 and Moody. UGH ITS JUST SO SADDDDD 😭😭

*SPOILERS OVER*

SO yeah that is one of the saddest books every so many good characters that passed away.

SO those wear my top 4 saddest books. THere are others and they are not in order but I hope you liked my post. What is the saddest book you have ever read?? Let me know in the comments.

Happy Reading
